I'm posting here in the hopes that someone out there can help us in finding a barrel horse. My 13 year old daughter lost the horse of her dreams to a case of colic which resulted in a rupture, we tried so hard but it wasn't to be. What we are looking for is an arabian or part arabian that is trained for barrels, poles etc and has competed, age is open, but prefer not over 15, gelding so we don't have to deal with the mare attitude(but will look at any and all)we are in michigan and not finding any, so willing to look at surrounding states, IL, WISCONSIN, OHIO, INDIANA, MINNESOTA, MISSOURI etc. We are willing to drive to see the right one, I would be extremely helpful if you are able to send a video via email or snail mail to give us a good idea live of how the horse is in patterns/competing. My daughter has been doing speed for 6 years, and I would consider her a high itermediate to experienced rider, We only owned her dream horse for a year and a half and they over the past year were consistantly progressing well in there times. The horse we had was one she could grow with, would go only as fast as she was comfortable with, but still had more run in him. I almost forgot price range of 2500.00 or under is prefered, but again will look at all.
